Come to the Fountain of Life
'Come, all of you who are thirsty, come to the waters; and you who have no money, come, buy and eat! Come, buy wine and milk without money and without cost' Isaiah 55:1
Whenever we are lost, the first step to find our way to the right destination is to find out where we are now and locate key spots and plot our way to the right destination.
The same is true in our lives. The bible pictures our need, or where we are now, in many ways and it sees us as hungry, weary, blind, lost, poor and tired, to name a few.
In our verse today, God sees his people being thirsty- thirsty for reality and thirsty for Him. The solution is not to strive and keep on pressing on regardless, 'hoping something might turn up' but turn back to God himself.
Perhaps, you are feeling spiritually thirsty or dry today. Don't keep busily pressing on with life regardless, filling your life with all kinds of busy-ness in the hope it will 'do the trick'
It is time to stop and to hear the invitation of God to come and drink from His well; for His promise is that all who do will truly find their thirst quenched. He will never fail us.
