There is Hope
22/3/2010
Some people may say ' I am keeping my fingers crossed for you' That is a silly thing for people to say. Putting one finger over another could not make any difference. Of course, in modern society, what many people would really want to say is 'I am praying for you' But this is far too embarrassing and risky thing to say....
Let us be clear that there is one thing for sure..hope in the living God! David wrote this Psalm amidst many challenging and difficult situations. It seemed quite hopeless in his situations. King Saul was after him..he was on the run for 10 years.....he was exiled in the desert, caves, hills.
He even stayed in the enemy's camp, pretending to be mad....even after he became king, he faced family breakups, rebellion and civil war....all seemed to drain all hope out of him.
Despite these, David did not give up hope. He discovered the God of Hope..'My hope is in you'
Today, this same God of Hope is with you in whatever challenges and opportunities are facing you. Look to Him ..and find your hope!
"Why are you so downcast, O my soul? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise him, my Saviour and my God' Ps 42:5
